fire. if -- two no leads or suspects in two shootings forbaltimore city detectives. first sunday morning on north de -- belnord. a man walked into a hospital after being shot on westington street. the liquor board has a scheduled hearing for 2 in the afternoon to discuss the future of the bar that captured headlines this summer following two murderers in july. a security guard was stabbed to death while breaking up a fight. and the trial for robert jarrett is set to begin today. jar set charged with killing his first -- jarrett is charged with killing his first wife and burying her beneath the shed in their home. the remains were found in rilafter his current wife gave police permission to search the property. chefs from all over baltimore are coming together this evening supporting a campaign aimed at fighting childhood hunger. share our strength no kid

hungry campaign teaches families how to cook healthy affordable meals. high school students took to the streets with a message. the group intersection went door to door through northeast baltimore asking others to support the dream act. it's question 4 on the ballot come november and if voters approve it the 2011 law would allow illegal immigrants to pay discounted in-state college tuition rates if they attend maryland high schools and their parents filed state returns. >> there are a lot of people who work hard in school and who do their best and try and deserve to go to college. >> opponents of the measure say it's costing the state money. they gathered enough signatures to push it to a referendum saying illegal immigrants don't deserve of the discounted rate since they are not maryland sit dance. time for a check of the -- citizens. time for a check of the forecast and it's feeling like fall. >> i know. it's cool and we have showers that rolled through the area last evening. they are right this.

and we are left with a few clouds this morning but you see the cloud deck surging up from the south. let me show you what i am talking about. we have the moisture poised to move in here possibly as we go into tomorrow and also wednesday. it looks like the low could track off towards the west. with that we won't get in a whole bunch of rain but wet weather could be moving in here as late as this evening. and that will continue into tomorrow morning as well. so, right now, we can see the moisture levels are on the dry side. we are looking at the 40s, 49 in baltimore and 41 in york. very dry air working through today. but then as we go into tomorrow, you saw all the moisture that's a tropical air mass and we will be humid as we go into tomorrow as well. let's go back to charley. moms and dads when you hit the roads a new law may change the way your child rides in the car. this morning, abc2 news linda so is live in federal hill and we understand that this new law has to do with child safety seats. >> reporter: yeah, and if you have one in your back seat it will affect you.

starting today nid kid under 8 has to ride in a booster seats regardless of how much they weigh until they hit a certain height requirement. specifically, 4 feet 9 inches or taller. before the new law took effect kids who weighed more than 65 pound could forgo the car seat but according to the national highway traffic safety administration, car crashes are still the number one cause of death in kids in the u.s. this new law is designed to cut down on that rate and to keep kids safe on the roads. now if you need help in stalling -- installing a car seat or want to make sure you did it properly. call 1-800-370-seat. coming up at 5:30, we will tell you about other laws including one that will affect how you use facebook while you are working. live in federal hill, linda so, abc2 news. an intense search taking place in tennessee this morning. what police believe may have happened to two children whose grandparents died in a house fire. also, heavy rains brought

news time 4:42. we are looking at stories making national headlines. the search is on in tennessee for two children who were thought to have died in a house fire. police are searching for 9-year- old chloe and her 7-year-old brother gage daniel. investigators thought they died in a house fire that killed their grandparents but after searching the croon they found no evidence of the children being in the home at the time of the fire. they have issued an amber alert for both children.

every parent who hears this will ask themselves how could a mother do this. she told police someone had taken her 3 week old baby. after 12 hours of searching they found the baby girl unharmed in a roadside ditch. she is accused of dumping the child. the 19-year-old is due in court on child endangerment charges. where roads are looking like rivers as the result of heavy rains from the weekened. in abilene they barricade roads and crews rescued several cars. official say the flooding is to blame for one death in the state. and they say the victim was killed after the vehicle she was in was swept off the road. time for a check of the roads and traffic here locally. you wouldn't want to deal with that from the storms if it happened here. >> whenever there's flooding like that it's extremely dangerous. never ever drive in that>> that's right. >> it could be debtedly. >> -- led i -- deadly. >> we have fog out there. >> we have dense fog frederick

and westward. carroll and baltimore county has fog. and we will talk about the cool temperatures this morning. it's chilly out there. look at the 47 in baltimore right now. we are at 47 in chestertown and annapolis good morning to you, you are at 51. and 50 in bel air this morning and elkton at 48 and reisterstown at 52. frederick at 49 and rockville at 50. so you know this means, grab the jacket as you head out. you are going to need it. even as we go into the after moon it's not going to warm up that much. i will call it seasonable but there's a little kink thrown in my forecast this morning. let's show you what's going on here we are seeing more clouds moving in here and all this is courtesy of a system that's down to the south. with that, that can hold temperatures down going into the afternoon. if we get more sunshine, temperatures will bump up a bit. i will show you that in a second. but this is what's going on at the surface. big system down to the south and with this it will slide up

towards the north and the area of low pressure will stay to the west so with that we might not get a whole bunch of rain but we will get showers in here as we work our way into tonight also tomorrow. we will have the warm front that begins to push its way up through here overnight andtomorrow and the cold front will traverse the area by wednesday. we will feel cooler as we head no thursday. but right now we put the future trend on and this model is underdone. you are not seeing a bunch of rain. we are seeing monday evening a chance for showers work their way in here. but then as we go through the day on tuesday, no type of rain i don't agree with that. i believe we see rain going into tomorrow and possibly on wednesday. have the rain gear out in case. for today, the temperature is 72 degrees. but if we see more clouds, we might not get out of the 60s so we could be right around 69, 68. we will see how it interacts through the day. but for tonight most hi cloudy skies and the showers and temperatures coming in right

seniors in active social lifestyles. today is a wee bowling. congressman elijah cummings will be in mount airy taking part in a ribbon cutting ceremony to open a allied health education center. senator mikulski will be there. after the ceremony you can take a tour of the newly construcked building and see where students are being trained. and the second round of mosquito spraying takes place in anne arundel county tonight. spraying will begin at 7:30 in the eastport area as expected to last into the morning hours. so far there, have been 33 reported cases of west nile in maryland. 3 people have died from the disease. they served time in canton mow bay -- began tan mow bay and now he is back home in canada. also a -- shall beganton mow bay -- began tan mow bay. wççñçñ

it's 10 minutes until 5 and we are check news around world. and a convicted terrorist and former guantanamo bay prisoner is in canada. during the weekend the 26-year- old was transferred from the u.s. military prison to a maximum security facility in ontario where he will completehis sentence. in 2010 he pleaded guilty to killing a u.s. soldier in afghanistan and spent two years at guantanamo bay and was eligible to return to canada last october. he was the youngest detainee and is eligible for parole in canada coming up next year. dozens of people are hurt and more than 100,000 are without power after a typhoon slammed through the japanese island. heavy rains and wind gusts paralyzed track for hours. train service and domestic flights were suspended. the storm is expected to dump 20 inches of rain on central

japan by the end of the day today. and torrential downpours now causing serious flooding for parts of the great britain. look at this video from yorkshire where the rain and water levels where the river oozed. residents in the area were forced to evacuate the homes and authorities say the shut down of highways bridges and railways had to take place due to the massive flooding. this is something we are not used to seeing out of great britain. >> i know. we are seeing a lot of pictures of flooding this morning, though. >> a lot of rain out there. texas now texas we knew it would happen. they had huge storms across the area. we saw the flooding of the roadways and you had great tips for people on that but a lot of rain and we had some last night. >> exactly and that system in texas is shifting towards the east and we will be affected by this as we go later into the evening into tomorrow. so, a big surge of showers and thunderstorms to the south and some will get in here but we will get in on the tropical moisture so we are dry failing but tomorrow we are going to --
